[Primary Function]
Leads the safety and compliance function for the Albertville complex to assure prevention of injury, illness, property and environmental damage. Works to assure compliance with Company and regulatory agency requirements.
[Responsibilities and Tasks]
The Plant/Complex Compliance manager oversees safety and compliance programs for the assigned location which includes the processing plant, hatchery, and feed mill.
- Effectively manage Safety! and Loss Prevention Programs for the complex to assure preven! tion of injuries, illnesses and property loss.
- Effectively manage regulatory requirements to assure prevention of citations and penalties
- Manage medical and workers compensation related activities for the plant/complex

2. Assuring known potential hazards are communicated, and the emergency action plan is is understood and followed.
3. Assuring that safety training is conducted and followed by all contractors.
- Schedule and conduct monthly safety meetings, Ergo Task Force Meetings,
- Provide outlines to supervisors for safety talks with a checklist
- Revise and update site specific Safety Programs. Assures training is conducted for updated programs.
- Oversees and as! sures completion of the safety-training portion of new hire orientation.
- Provides annual required safety training to new hires, existing hourly employees and supervisors
- Coordinates and manages PSM & Hazwoper activities including RMP as needed
- Monitors and administers safety programs including, but not limited to Lock-out-Tag-out, Confined Space program, Ergonomic program, Hot Work
- Manages plant safety inspection and audit activities
- Conduct accident investigations with supervisors
- Assist complex/operations manager with regulatory inspections
- Supervise security personnel, scheduling and addressing their issues
- Supervisory responsibility for the Health and Safety Technicians and workers compensation support personnel
- Supervisory responsibility for maintaining Nurse Program and communicating statistics as needed
- A minimum of 3-5 years relevant ! experience in a Safety Management capacity is required. Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeratin and electrical systems is required.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills including the ability to correspond verbally and in writing with regulatory compliance personnel and company management and operations personnel
- Must be able to prepare presentations and training programs, and present within public speaking arenas
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, OSHA, Environmental, Workers Compensation, etc.
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Proficient personal computer skills, including MS Office based work processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs
- Demonstrate leadership, supervisory skills and knowledge
5-7 years relevant experience in a Safety Management capacity within a food manufacturing company.
Certification as Safety Professi! onal (CSP)
