Detailed Job Description: Under the direction of the Vice President of Patient Care Services, the Director of Surgical Services is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the planning and comprehensive operations of the group of units ens! uring compliance with hospital and nursing mission, goals, phi! losophy, policies and procedures. Surgical Services includes: 17 OR suites with a Steris spine suite, heart room and DiVinci Robot; Out Patient Services with Treatment, Pre Admit Testing and Anemia Clinic; Pain Management; Endoscopy; Sterile Processing and PACU. Approximately 125 FTE's, 2 Assistant Directors, 2 Educators, Informatics RN and Team Leads.
The Director of Surgical Services utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care and ensures quality care is provided through appropriate allocation of human resources, maintaining financial control of the unit, and serving as a liaison between administration, physicians and staff. The individual must demonstrates personal and professional responsibility; participates in creating an atmosphere of mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect; and assumes responsibility for own professional development.
R equirements
BSN , Master's Degree required
3-5 years of Director leve! l experience in comparable size periop department including Business and Personnel experience
Must demonstrate personal and professional responsibility
LEAN training preferred
