Registered Nurse - PRN - Visiting Staff

Location: Hoover Alabama

Description: Alacare Home Health & Hospice is employing Registered Nurse - PRN - Visiting Staff right now, this vacancy will be placed in Alabama. This position offers you the opportunity to make a difference when it matters most.

D! uties include:

• Assessing patients’ physical psychosocial, spiritual and emotional needs
• Developing, implementing, evaluating and revising plans of care
• Providing skilled nursing care to patients in their homes
• Providing supportive care to patients and their families
• Coordinating patient care with physicians and other staff members
• Supervising home care aides
• Participating in the bereavement program

Your nursing skills have never been more appreciated! This job requires a person who can work independently, yet never forget that hospice care requires a team effort.

Other requirements include:

• Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma or Associate Degree)
• At least 1 year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute-care hospital or home setting
• Current Alabama registered nurse license
• Ability to cope with the emotional str! ess of patients and their families
• Willingness to wor! k in home environments of patients who may have values or standards different from your own
• Familiarity with the use of infusion pumps and other methods of pain/symptom control
• Ability to make evaluations and decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria
• Ability to turn, lift, carry and otherwise transport patient
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Respecting the patient’s privacy and maintaining confidentiality
• Current Alabama driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
• CPR Certification
