- Responsible for providing comprehensive patient care
judgment in assessing patient condition! s, interprets
guidelines, and modifies patient care as required.
- Coordinates patient care through a continuum and
relation to clinical are, quality and cost
effectiveness.
- Accountable for making patient care assignments based
- Makes referral appointments and arranges specialty
- Sets up, operates, and monitors specialized medical
oxygen analyzers, nebulizers, and other clinic specific
equipment.
- Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures; sets up
on a preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
- Performs/assists with procedures such as bladder
acuity tests, EKGs, irrigation of eyes ! and ears,
tympanograms, splinting, phlebotomy and other clinic
specific procedures, in accordance with established
protocols.
- Ensures procedures and treatments are properly
- Ensures all equipment is properly cleaned and stored
- Ensures preventive maintenance and routine cleaning
replenished.
- May participate in the orientation and performance
- May be required to augment clinical nursing support
leave, or deployment.
- Educate and counsel patients/families about their
appropriate recommendations/referrals; conducts
education and counseling in one on one or group settings
as! appropriate.
Job Requirements:FORMAL EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited nursing program is

- Current nursing license approved by the State Board of

- Required to possess and maintain a current Basic Life
Nurses assigned to pediatric clinics must possess
current PALS.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

setting.
- Must possess ! knowledge of preventive health schedules,
- Must possess knowledge of disease management and
- Must possess knowledge of pharmaceuticals, their
and complications of their use as well as the accurate
administration of the pharmacologic agent, including
dosage calculations as required.
- Knowledge of the administrative requirements for
disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and
follow up care.
- Must be able to recognize adverse signs and symptoms
- Must possess excellent written communication skills to
patient (both written and electronic)
- Must possess excellent oral communication skills for
patients as well as being able to communicate
effectively with all parties (i.e. patient, physician,
other healthcare providers, patientâs family etc)
- Must be knowledgeable and skilled in CPR and
support measures.
- Must be able to perform infection control procedures
- Experience in operation of unique military health care
- Previous working knowledge of the military health care
knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services,
preferred provider network and managed care/HMO
organizations is highly desired.
