Day shift Pharmacist needed for hospital in northeastern Al! abama. In this role, you will actively coordinate, on a day-to-day basis, the provision of high quality, comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the patients of hospital , in compliance with federal and state legal/regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
This includes:
involvement with multiple drug distribution functions (inclusive of computerized order entry and/or prospective review and verification of physicians' orders, IV admixture preparation, etc.);
defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the aegis of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives (which include active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about the need to clarify and/or change an order along with documentation of intervention outcomes);
educational activities with pharmacist colleagues, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals to maintain and advance clinical competency vis--v! is drug therapy;
and, supervisory functions which provide ! professional oversight and direction of technicians' drug preparation and distribution activities to assure safe and expedient provision of pharmaceutical care for patients and staff.
Requirements: PharmD preferred. 2+ years experience in hospital setting desired; Residency may be counted toward experience. Pharmacist licensure in Alabama or eligible for reciprocity. Strong communication abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude and professional demeanor required.
