The Clinical Nurse explains illness, symptoms, courses of treatment and hope for the future and begins to teach the individual about the use and benefits of pe! rsonal recovery and prevention of relapse. The Clinical Nurse informs the individual of benefits of active treatment, including medication and the intended and unintended effects and ensures that the individual is educated about choices and resources available. Along with ensuring a safe environment for all, he or she develops a therapeutic relationship with each individual, which is critical in the healing process. The Clinical Nurse assures that the patient is educated about his rights regarding care, privacy, safety, confidentiality of medical records, Baker Act and the right to be free from inappropriate use of restraint and seclusion. The nurse demonstrates and role models the use of de-escalation and uses interpersonal skills to relax patients involved in potential conflict. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to re! main on campus immediately before, during, and after severe we! ather and/or disasters.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR JOB:
