Description: Auburn University is in need of Tech I/II/III, Veterinary right now, this occupation will be placed in Alabama. For detail informations about this occupation opportunity kindly read the description below. This position is 8 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday with some flexibility required. This technician will be assigned to the Community Practice service and will provide support for faculty and serv! ice within the teaching hospital. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: receive patients, facilitate patients and clients through receiving, diagnostics and discharge. Must have the ability to assist, induce and maintain/monitor anesthesia for elective surgery and dentistry; perform and chart dental procedures; properly restrain dogs and cats for examinations, specimen collection and procedures; have strong phlebotomy and catheter placing skills; demonstrate nursing care for patients; keep drug logs; and make accurate estimates, place appropriate charges in computer system (UVIS), and provide bills to auditors. This technician will be working closely with and teaching veterinary students on the workings of a general practice veterinary setting and must be comfortable communicating with others. Must be knowledgeable in vaccination protocols and able to administer vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick products. May be required to speak with clients and an! swer questions about general practice issues.
Minimum! Qualifications
Entry into the applicant pool requires an Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Veterinary Technology. Candidates must either have an active license with the Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medicine as a Veterinary Technician upon hire, or meet all requirements to become licensed within six months of employment. Desired Qualifications
Actively licensed as a veterinary technician and experience in a general veterinary practice setting; knowledge of taking intraoral radiographs; ability to obtain samples for skin, ears, and fecals; and correctly identify parasites, yeast and bacteria.
