This position offers you the opportunity to make a difference when it matters most. The candidate will manage new employee direct patient! care orientation at the branch level by functioning as a teacher, mentor and supervisor to new orientees or new graduate nurses. Coordinates with the Education department to develop an individualized orientation plan, evaluates new employee progress and addresses any training isuues. Ensures comprehensive and timely submission of all orientation documentation. Facilitates the development and integration of case management practices into the culture of the branch. Prepares new and existing staff for the primary functions of case management through education and mentoring; has the accountability for the care, coordination and discharge planning of patients within an assigned case load.
This job requires a person who is comfortable leading the care team, both through direction and by example.
Other requirements include:
- Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
- At least 2 years of experience in general nursing with a minimum! of one year clinical experience with Alacare Home Health & Ho! spice.
- Current Alabama registered nurse license
- Ability to cope with the emotional stress of patients and their families
- Willingness to work in home environments of patients who may have values or standards different from your own
- Ability to turn, lift, carry and otherwise transport patient
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Respecting the patient’s privacy and maintaining confidentiality
- Current Alabama driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
- CPR Certification
