Essential Functions:
Utilizes the nursing process to assess patients, plan individualized care, identify expected outcomes, and implement and evaluate nursing interventions for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; performs therapeutic and/or diagnostic procedures as ordered; administers medications including controlled substances by all routes; demonstrates CPR according to the American Heart Association standards; utilizes proper body mechanics when moving, positioning, and transferring patients and when moving equipment necessary to perform essential functions; adheres to Hospital Policies and to current Infection Control and Safety standards; starts IV’s and assists with emergency childbirth; performs Triage duties, utilizes all central venous access devices, performs venipuncture for blood tests and IV access, and accesse! s arterial lines; ability to work during internal and external! disasters; performs hazardous decontamination of patients; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and health care team in person and via the telephone; responds to overhead pages; serves as charge nurse when assigned; accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; regular and prompt attendance and the ability to work schedule as defined and overtime and call as required; related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the state of Alabama and licensure with the state of Alabama as a registered nurse.
