This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Moving expenses will not be paid. DUTIES:
As a Practical Nurse you will:
Obtain information from patient and/or family to identify major complaints, symptoms, or reason for seeking health care.
Coordinate and facilitate care coordination, communicates relevant information according to the medical plan of care and nursing assessment, and documents accordingly in the health record.
Perform behavioral health screenings.
Educate patients and family members on childcare and school requirements for children on medications as well as perform immunization screening! and review to select required immunizations, correct dosages,! and routes of administration.
Administer medications via various routes. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Licensure: A current license to practice as a practical/vocational nurse in a State or territory of the United States or District of Columbia OR must have applied for a license to practice. Applications of candidates possessing a license must be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of the license. Non-licensed candidates who have completed their training may be appointed subject to obtaining the required license during the probationary period. Those not licensed must furnish the date on which they applied for a license and the jurisdiction involved. No person appointed pending licensure may be retained beyond the probationary period if licensure has not been attained.
Specialized Experience: One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-05) requiring application of the knowledge, skil! ls, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience which includes providing individualized nursing care to patients; administering medication via various routes; screening and reviewing immunization records; and/or performing routine procedures such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), eye, throat, nasal and/or wound cultures, dressing changes, ear irrigation, and/or application of bandages.

You may be required to serve one year in a trial/probationary status.
Personnel Security Investigation required.
This position is subject to annua! l seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for ! appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 (Condition of employment for certain Civilian positions identified as Critical under the Department of Army Drug-Free Workplace Program) requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
Successful completion of a pre-placement physical examination is required.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification Curre! nt Advanced Life Support of other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions. This position requires a Childcare Background Check (CNACI).
