Occupational Health Nurse

Job Description:
1. Plans, directs and implements prioritized care within medical protocol to ensure patient safety.
2. Recognizes and provides care for life-threatening emergencies and operates medical equipment as required.
3. Documents care admini stered; maintains and secures medical records confidentially while providing case management for work related injuries.
4. Develops and implements safety and security measures to assess work related injuries and recommends preventative measures.
5. Administers drug screens and blood draws to all associates in accordance with written policies and procedures.
6. Maintains a clean environment and uses universal precautions while practicing within legal and ethical guidelines in accordance with health services policies and procedures.
7. Monitors budget for health services providing cost containment and appropriate use of resources.
8. Develops and instructs various programs and classes as needed for security or other designated associates.
9. Communicates effectively with physicians and other health care agencies; reviews medical documentation and billing inquiries for medical necessity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensure to practice in the State of Ohio, California, Alabama, Oklahoma or Pennsylvania by the State Board of Nursing required.
2. Three to five years of clinical experience in an emergency or occupational setting preferred; must participate on a yearly basis in educational programs to maintain competence.
3. CPR certification required with ACLS certification preferred.
4. Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace including walking, bending and lifting within a Distribution Center environment required.
